You should always try your meals before you hike. We have been in too many huts with people that pour a cup of boiling water into their freeze-dried meals, leave them for 10 minutes to reconstitute and then gasp at the thought of having to eat it. They have never seen or tried a freeze-dried meal..... You can't just pop out to pick up an alternative and you may have two more nights of similar meals in front of you.

The proof is always in the eating. We have created a sampler selection to give you confidence in your food.

Go Native meals are not freeze-dried they are ready-to-eat casseroles and curries. To heat; place the meal pouch in boiling water for 2 minutes. They're good enough to eat at home, don't take our word for it, try them for yourself.

We have also included some mashed potato and our famous natural, slow-release energy raspberry and apple fruit bars.

The Go Native ready-to-eat meals and fruit bars are used on Mt Everest by one of the leading guiding companies in the world and are now enjoyed on most of the great walks in New Zealand and Australia.

Our raspberry and apple fruit bars are purchased and eaten by our World Cup-winning rugby team, World Cup-winning netballers, Black Sticks, NZ Olympic team, health hunters, and active school children. Natural, slow-release energy; perfect for hiking.

To heat, place the meal pouch into rapidly boiling water for 2 minutes. 

In this 3 meal box, you will receive:

  • Butter Chicken + Mashed Potato
  • Beef Ragu + Mashed Potato
  • Chilli Con Carne + Mashed Potato

Butter Chicken: Aromatic, rich and delicious with brown rice, it's a Go Native team favourite! we eat it for lunch in the office on a cold day, it's seriously that good!

Beef Ragu: A hearty beef ragu on mash. So good! 

Chilli Con Carne:  A rich and hearty dinner, you can also use it in wraps for lunch - it ticks all the boxes.

Mashed Potato Sachets x 3 - 60g sachet makes 310g portion. Our creamy and delicious mash works perfectly with our ready meals to give you a hearty meal. The mashed potato is freeze-dried.

* Another meal will be substituted if we're running low on one of the flavours.

Our New Zealand-made meals are shelf-stable so you can leave them in the pantry.

    We're a New Zealand company passionate about the outdoors and food. We specialise in ready-to-eat casseroles and curries. When you're on an adventure you want real food that's hearty, delicious and quick to prepare. We've organised 10 of these meals in this pack for you.

    Our ready meals are not freeze-dried, they are batch-made casseroles and curries using some of New Zealand's best produce. We steam finish the meal pouches in a retort machine, they are preservative-free and proudly made in New Zealand in a state-of-the-art facility.

    10 meal pack includes:

    All meals are Halal suitable.

    If we run low on one or more of the meal flavours we will substitute it with more of the other flavours we have on hand. If we're low on mash we will swap it out for rice.

    To heat - place the meal pouch in a bot of rapidly boiling water for 2 minutes or scoop the meals out of the pouch and heat in a pan. The creamy and delicious mash is freeze-dried which works perfectly as a side.
